Atomic Kitten does a great cover of the Blondies 80's hit "The Tide Is High" and these girls even wrote some additional lyrics to the song which is really cool. On this UK part 2 you get two exclusive remixes by Groove Bothers and Lasgo, and they're both playable in clubs. Here's my review of each track.
1. Radio Mix (03:26)
This is the version you hear on the radio and on their album. I love the guitar re-wind effect.
2. Groove Brother 12" Remix (5:35)
Great dance remix that is guaranteed to get your feet moving and it stays true to the the original harmonies and the melody of the radio mix. However, it doesn't have the "Get The Feeling"-part (additional lyrics) in this remix, which is a shame, cos it's my favorite part of the song. But Groove Brothers aka Graham Stack sure does this song justice.
3. Lasgo Remix (5:40)
This is darker, leaning more towards trance and almost through the whole remix it repeats Natasha saying "I'm not the kind of girl who gives up just like that" which gets a bit on my nerves. And it has a build-up where you only hear two lines of the additional lyrics, "Everytime I get the feeling" and "Everytime I get you near me" with one of the girls' voices being extremely pitched down, which makes it sound weird. The best thing about this remix is the awesome synth arrangements that just blow your mind, it's Lasgo trying a happier sound than their usual stuff.
If you love rare remixes and collect them like I do, this import is truly worth the money! |
