| CUSTOMER REVIEWS: | 5/5 - "Get Rocked" With This Great Collection From Def Leppard
Def Leppard was one of the most successful rock bands of the 80's and this excellent compilation contains 15 of their most searing hits. Included are such classics as "Pour Some Sugar on Me", "Animal", "Photograph" and "Hysteria" (my favorite). For those who like ballads, "Love Bites" and "When Love and Hate Collide" should wet their appetite.

<br />Def Leppard was legendary for their loud guitars and thundering drums (although their druummer only had one arm!). Add in Joe Elliot's excellent lead vocals and each song in this collection is a rock and roll classic. This collection is great because all of the greatest hits are available on a single cd, so its not necessary to buy each cd individually to get all of these songs; just purchase this one great disc. Def Leppard based their reputation on loud guitars, booming drums, and extreme vocals. This cd captures each of these elements on every song. Buy this great disc and listen to some heart-pounding rock and roll at its absolute best.

Best of the best here! Get this while you can for your collection as it won't be produced since the new Best of was released in 2005!
4/5 - A Good Compilation
Back in the 80's,one of the most succesful and one of the most important hair metal groups was,without question,Def Leppard. These guys weren't able to survive like Motley Crue,Bon Jovi,and Poison were once the hair metal era was dead and over with and grunge had taken it's place,but they put out some great music and enjoyed a lot of success. So,how does this compilation measure up? Read on for my review of this:

<br />Def Leppard's big hits are here-POUR SOME SUGAR ON ME,PHOTOGRAPH,LOVE BITES,ROCK OF AGES,among others-so if You're a new or a casual fan of Def Leppard,then this CD will give You a good introduction to them,and If You've been a loyal fan of DL for years now,then You should be pleased with this compilation.

<br />One unreleased song,WHEN LOVE&HATE COLLIDE was included on here,and having an unreleased song on a greatest hits compilation from a band is always a nice touch.

<br />You get notes on the tracks in the liner notes in this album from some members of Def Leppard,so having that here is a nice touch,and You even get liner notes written about Def Leppard that were written by Peter Mensch.

<br />The liner notes feature pictures of the band and it also lists a discography for all of Def Leppard's albums that had been released up until that point(this compilation came out in 1995)so having both of those here is a nice touch and it would also let a casual music listener know some of the Def Leppard studio albums that are also available if he/she wanted to get some of them.

<br />The accoustic versions of TWO STEPS BEHIND and MISS YOU IN A HEARTBEAT are replacing the original versions of those songs on here-if it was against the eighty minute time limit on a CD to have both versions of those songs on here,then what would be wrong with having the original versions on here and having the accoustic versions of those songs somewhere else? It was a big mistake by the record company that released this CD not to do that.

<br />The liner notes in the back that feature comments from some of the band members of Def Leppard does NOT list what year the songs on here were originally released-could someone please tell me why that is?

<br />This is one of the best "hair" compilations that is still available,and it represents Def Leppard. Like I already said,this should serve good for someone who has been a fan of Def Leppard for many years now,and If You're a new or casual fan of Def Leppard and You want a taste of their music but You don't intend on buying all of their albums,then this should serve You just fine.
