Film star Richard Todd dies at 90 (AP)

The actor's family announced Friday, Dec. 4, 2009, that the actor had died of cancer at the age 90 on Thursday. Todd drew on his wartime exploits as a British army paratrooper in the 1962 film 'The Longest Day' and was nominated for an Academy Award for the 1949 film 'A Hasty Heart' as well as starring in one of his best-known roles playing Royal Air Force pilot Guy Gibson in 'The Dam Busters.'
