This 16 track collection was released as part of Cliff's 40th Anniversary and covers the Eighties with the hit singles Wired For Sound, Please Don't Fall In Love, Two Hearts and The Only Way Out it includes 2 tracks taken from the Dressed For The Occasion and the rest of the songs are tracks from various albums and b-sides including the rare song Reunion Of The Heart

5/5 - Vintage Cliff!
This is a great collection of Cliff's recordings from the 1980s. Thoroughly enjoyable listening, reviving great memories. "Please don't fall in love", "Miss you nights", "Ocean Deep" & "The water is wide" - all evocative melodies sung as brilliantly as usual by Cliff. If you remember the 80s with any degree of pleasure there will be songs on this CD that you will enjoy. Many of the songs were hits, but there are also some lesser-known, but just as enjoyable songs included. The voice is still in great shape and the songs chosen cover a wide range of styles. Worth the purchase price.

5/5 - The most beautiful, stirring, evocative 80s album ever.
This is one of the most astounding albums I ever heard. Cliff Richard's voice is breathtakingly beautiful; gentle and soothing and yet stirringly emotional, powerful and intense. One of the most incredible things about this album is the amazingly different things Cliff can do with his voice. Loud and striking as in "Wired for Sound"; soft and comforting as in "Miss You Nights", smooth and gentle in "The Water is Wide" and gruff and tortured-sounding as in "A Heart Will Break". And I'm so impressed that anyone can shriek "Luci....ille" like that and actually sound brilliant. Most artists would sound terrible so please...don't try it. The recordings themselves are of superb quality. "We Don't Talk Anymore" and "Miss You Nights" ACTUALLY TOP the 1970s originals; I did not think this was humanely possible. I love the applause and cheers; it makes it so atmospheric; almost like a live album, and Cliff isn't cheered enough by the world at large. In "We Don't Talk", "Miss You Nights", "Give A Little Bit More", "A Heart Will Break", "Ocean Deep", "The Water is Wide", "Reunion of the Heart" etc, Cliff's voice is so penetrating and his message so beautifully conveyed that it almost physically hurts. And "La Gonave" is a very strong and moving song, and also great to dance too. "We Don't Talk" was the only number one hit from the collection, and some of the songs were B sides or lesser known. But all of these songs...yes all of them...should have been number one hits in my opinion. You could listen to every eighties compilation that ever was and never find anything to match this.
