5/5 - Excellent
After sampling a wide range of French rap I can say the 113 is probably my french favourite group (maybe only second to NTM.)

What I found was that alot of the popular rap groups in France are very skilled and talented, but there stuff sounds like old American rap, some are sounding alot fresher like American artists of today (notably Booba) but in my opinion 113 come the closest to have the freshness of new American artists while at the same time keeping you constantly aware of their French/African origins.

I think the best things about 113 is their excellent beats/instrumentals and their heavy voices, these combine to make some really excellent tunes.

Alot of 113 better songs have what can be described as 'club beats' (I think) I constantly finding that I prefer their beats over top US rappers and for any US rapper to spit well on these beats would definately make a top 10 hit (maybe even no. 1). Even the intro 'Grenade' has a instrumental that will knock you off your feet.

I do French at school and I have an extreme passion for it, and by learning it through something I'm passionate about in English culture (like rap) makes it even more appealing. But you don't have to speak the least of French to appreciate it, as many of my friends who completely dislike the French language have commented on how sick the tracks are.

Stand out tracks are:
Marginal (10/10) - Definite crunk song for the club, Amazing beat and sick vocals

On sait l'faire (8/10) - Solid gangsta tune, featuring another sick French artist (Booba) beat can get a little repetitive.

On est ensemble (7/10) - Going back to their African roots, fun song.

Jour de paix (8/10) - Sensitive song, about peace, nice vocals from Blacko of Sniper.

Juste un mic (8/10) - A nice song with a fun beat, some english bits in.

L'Ecole du crime (8/10) - This is featuring the infamous US duo Mobb Deep, I woulda given this a 10, because the beat is good and Mobb Deep kill it with this song (Check Prodigy's entrance 'Yo! Perhaps there's a reason for all the ****') But the guys from 113 aren't as sick in this song, and their spitting tends to drag on abit.

Grenade (The Intro) (9/10) - Even though it's an intro it's track length, the beat absolutely kills it on this song, it's off the hook. I don't know why they made it only an intro, they shoulda done a proper song out of it, but it would have been damn good. There are lyrics on this track, they're pretty sick, but coulda been better.

Mexico: Grammy winner sang at drug cartel's party (AP)

FILE - In this June 12, 2008 file photo, Mexican singer Ramon Ayala gestures at the BMI Latin Awards in Los Angeles. Ayala was rounded up during a raid on a drug cartel's Christmas party on Dec. 11. A spokesman for the federal Attorney General's Office said Monday that Ayala was released after being questioned Saturday following a military operation that is part of the government's campaign to crack down on drug gangs. (AP Photo/Dan Steinberg, file)AP - Latin Grammy winner Ramon Ayala was rounded up during a raid on a drug cartel's Christmas party in a wealthy gated community, a lavish night that showed the audacity of traffickers in gathering despite being hounded by police.
