My stock on GEMM is identical to my stock on Netsoundmusic but is priced in US dollars. | | STOCK CONDITION: | Vinyl Product Ex - Excellent - Some signs of being played, possibly light surface marks, minor lessening of sound quality e.g. odd crackle. Cover and packaging may have slight wear or creasing. Vg+ - Very Good Plus - Falls in between VG and Ex i.e. Too good to be Vg but not good enough to be Ex. Vg - Very Good - Record has been played many times, but has no major faults or deterioration in sound quality. May have minor background noise or crackle, but no clicks or jumps. May have noticable surface marks or occasional light scratch, but nothing nasty. Cover may show some signs of normal wear and tear. G - Good - Record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and the odd click, or scratch. There may be some scuffing or folding of edges on the cover or contents, minor spine splits, stains etc. 78's Because of the nature of the Shellac used in the manufacture of most 78's, and it's varying quality, it is quite difficult to accurately grade 78's. A disc which looks to be in poor condition, visually, may play flawlessly, and on the other hand, a disc which looks perfect may be unlistenable. Having said this, ALL 78's have surface noise to some degree. Acknowledging that much of the sound quality of these discs depends on the quality of the shellac used in manufacture and not the visual condition of the discs I place more store in audio grading than visual, although I do both. I visually grade the discs in the normal manner and I use the grading listed above for vinyl. BUT check also the Description Column, because here you will find the audio grading to help you make a choice. CD's I grade CD's as Excellent or Vg+ as a minimimum. I DO NOT grade the plastic jewel cases as, unless they are specific to the CD, they are easily replaced. If a CD case is broken or scratched, I will ship as is, leaving replacement to the customer. If the CD has a Digipak or Card Sleeve I will grade as normal. | | DATABASE LAST UPDATED: | 22/02/10 | | STATUS: | Active |
