Pinetop Perkins' 80-year career still going (AP)

In this Oct. 11, 2009 photograph, Grammy winning blues pianist Joe Willie 'Pinetop' Perkins motions a 'thumbs up' gesture during the annual festival at Hopson Plantation in Clarksdale, Miss., honoring him. Although he is 96 years old, Perkins, who formerly drove a tractor at the plantation in the 1940's, keeps an active performance schedule and takes time to record with a number of contemporary blues musicians, many several decades younger than himself. Proceeds of the festival are used to help fund programs of the Blues Foundation. (AP Photo/Rogelio V. Solis)AP - Noisy crowds in smoky bars don't bother 96-year-old bluesman Pinetop Perkins.
